Alok Mehta, former President and Secretary-General of Editors Guild of India, is not only an Editor and Writer but also a T.V. Broadcaster and Political Commentator.

A recipient of the Padma Shri in 2009, India’s fourth-highest civilian Honour by Government of India, Alok has received several other awards in the field of writing and Journalism including Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Award, Bhartendu Harishchandra Award, and Patrakarita Bhushan Puraskar.

He has been working in the print and audio-video media for the past 45 years. He has also served as the Chief Editor for Hindi Outlook and Nai Dunia.

He has been a member of the National Integration Council (Govt. of India) Press Council of India, Trusty of Raja Rammohan Roy Library Foundation, National Library Advisory Board, and Prem Bhatia Memorial Trust, Kusumanjali Foundation.

His corpus of 20 books includes, Indian Journalism Keeping it Clean (English), Patrakarita ki Lakshman Rekha on Code of Ethics in Journalism, Chidia Fir Nahi Chahaki (Collection of Short Stories), Safar Suhana Duniya Ka (Travelogues of 37 countries), and many more.
