Hailing from a family of musicians and litterateurs, Dr. Deepti Omchery Bhalla is equally proficient in classical music and classical dance besides being an author and a researcher.
Presently a Professor of Karnaatak Music at the Faculty of music and Fine Arts, University of Delhi, Deepti had her initial training from her mother and advanced learning from the distinguished Pallavi Vidwan Shri T. S. Raghvan.
A disciple of late Kalamandalam Kalyani Kutty Amma, Deepti is a senior Mohiniaattam exponent who has enriched the art with her in-depth knowledge and involvement with various allied art forms of Kerala. She has enhanced the Mohiniaattam repertoire with rare musical forms and compositions like Shabdachaali, Nrithya Prabandham, Dundubhi Natyam, Vaadil Thura Pattu, Ardhanareeswara, Malayalam Jyaawali, Samvaada Padams, etc. which have all won her high acclaim.
