Prof. Dr. Sruti Bandopadhay (born 8th October 1962) is one of the foremost Manipuri Dance artists in India. Awarded the ‘Top’ Grade by National Television, she has trained under many famous personalities such as Guru Bipin Singh, Kalavati Devi, Darshana Jhaveri, Ojha Babu Singh, Ojha Gourakisor Sharma, Prof. Jiten Singh and has performed in various national and international festivals for last 30 years.
She is a recognized artist of Sangeet Natak Academy, Indian Council for Cultural Relations and many other cultural institutions in India.
She was awarded the Visiting Lecturer Fulbright Fellowship (2007) to teach Manipuri and lecture on Indian dances in the Department of World Arts and Culture, University of California, USA.
She was awarded the Sri Lalit Kala Academy Award from Mysore in 2009 and was also awarded the Devadasi Rashtriya Samman at Bhubaneswar in 2018.
She has authored many books on Indian dances and a number of her articles in national and international journals have been published throughout the years.
At present Prof. Dr. Sruti Bandopadhay is working as Professor and Head of Department of Dance, Rabindra Bharati University.
